The robots are back. On 22 Oct 2026, LEGO announced a partnership with Daft Punk, and its first result is the approved LEGO Ideas model Daft Punk Concert. It depicts the duo’s famous pyramid stage from the Alive 2007 tour.

Key facts

  • Model: Daft Punk Concert (LEGO Ideas), by RobotRock
  • Subject: the pyramid stage from the Alive 2007 tour
  • Approved: 22 Oct 2026, as the first announcement of the LEGO and Daft Punk partnership
  • Still open: set number, piece count, price and release date (more information in 2027, according to Engadget)

What is it?

LEGO Ideas is LEGO’s platform where fans can submit their own models. If a model reaches 10,000 supporters, LEGO reviews it, and an approved model is reworked with the official design team into a retail set. Daft Punk Concert is exactly that kind of fan model. Its creator goes by the name RobotRock, and according to Brick Current it is a father-and-son duo from Luxembourg.

According to Brick Current, the model began in the spring of 2020 during the pandemic, when father and son built it from bricks they had at home. The project was later continued digitally.

The model depicts the stage on which Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo performed on their 2007 tour: a huge, light-flashing pyramid with the robot-helmeted musicians playing at the top. According to LEGO, RobotRock is helping LEGO’s designers finalise the product.

A long road to bricks

The model is the result of several years of work. According to Brick Current, the original version won LEGO Ideas’ music-themed “Music to Our Ears” contest in 2020. The current version was resubmitted to the platform on 4 Oct 2024 and passed the 10,000-supporter mark in April 2025. After that the project waited for LEGO’s review and licence negotiations until the approval was announced in October 2026.

LEGO teased the announcement on 21 Oct with a teaser shown during Daft Punk’s WDPK 83.7 broadcast, featuring a red 2×4 brick. The broadcast’s name refers to the track WDPK 83.7 FM on the album Homework (1997). The title of LEGO’s official press release, “Builders After All”, will sound familiar to anyone who remembers the album Human After All.

Why it matters

Daft Punk ended their career in 2021, so there will be no new concerts. The pyramid is one of the best-known stages in electronic music, and a scale model in your living room is the closest thing to the Alive 2007 experience on offer now. For fans, the most interesting question is whether the final set will have lights. According to Brick Current, the fan model had about 2,000 pieces, and inside the pyramid there was a motor-driven rotating transparent box and lights. LEGO has not confirmed whether these will remain in the final set. Approved Ideas models often change on their way to the shops.

Finnish reality check · comment

In Finland, building the pyramid is a perfect fit for November evenings: it is as dark outside as an arena before the first light comes on.

Our verdict

This is a victory for patient fan work. The model won a contest, gathered its supporters and survived licence negotiations. The robots no longer tour, but the pyramid is coming back in miniature, and that is more than many dared to hope. Our final verdict waits for the price and piece count: if the lights are left out, play “One More Time” on your own speaker.
