Le Creuset × Star Trek: the Enterprise casserole takes your stew to warp speed
Gadget of the day
French cookware maker Le Creuset has created a limited kitchen collection to celebrate Star Trek’s 60th anniversary. It includes a cast-iron casserole in the spirit of the Starship Enterprise, a Klingon casserole and a Spock mug. In the Finnish online store, the most expensive item in the collection costs €475.
Key facts
- Manufacturer: Le Creuset in collaboration with Paramount Products & Experiences

- Star item: Enterprise cast-iron casserole, 26 cm / 5.3 l, Starfleet delta knob
- Price in Finland: €36–475 (lecreuset.fi)
What is it?
According to Le Creuset, the collection celebrates sixty years of Star Trek. There are a good ten pieces, and they are ordinary kitchen items with the series’ insignia added. The centrepiece is a round cast-iron casserole that references the Enterprise. The lid knob is shaped like the Starfleet delta.
For cooks leaning towards the dark side, there is a shallow Klingon casserole with the Klingon trefoil emblem on the lid. The collection also includes a stoneware dish resembling the shuttlecraft Galileo, three mini cocottes named after aliens from the original series (Balok, Talosian and Gorn), a Spock mug, a “Live Long and Prosper” oven mitt, a spoon rest and a Communi-Grater. The Klingon knob is also sold separately if you want to swap it onto your own old casserole. In the Finnish store, the Starfleet Delta knob is sold separately too, for €40.
The small details are what fans recognise. According to the manufacturer’s press release, the Spock mug has a real gold rim, and the mini cocottes are named after aliens that any viewer of the original series will recognise instantly. A casual guest, on the other hand, will just see three small pots.
Why it matters
Fan merchandise is usually plastic that gets forgotten on a shelf. Le Creuset does it differently: these are the same enamelled cast-iron casseroles the company has made for decades, and you can genuinely slow-cook a Karelian stew in them. The insignia make the cookware cupboard a little nerdier. They have nothing to do with the food itself.
In the United States the collection went on sale in September. Prices there start at $35, and the Enterprise casserole costs $500. Besides Le Creuset’s own store, the collection is sold by Williams-Sonoma. The Finnish online store has its own page for the collection with prices in euros. Still, check which items are actually in stock before you buy.
Finnish reality check · comment
A Klingon casserole is a scientifically proven way to get your mother-in-law asking what that emblem on the lid means. The answer takes the whole simmering time.

Our verdict
Technically this isn’t a gadget but a very expensive casserole with a knob borrowed from an interstellar uniform. That is exactly why it works, though: these items get used every day instead of sitting in a display cabinet. If you’re dreaming of a Le Creuset anyway, the Star Trek version costs only a little more than usual and also states your opinion on Kirk versus Picard. If you just want a good casserole, the standard model makes the same stew without the Starfleet decoration.
